at the Six Sigma Group our experts deliver a lot of Lean Six Sigma training and
are often asked the difficult question of what the three things are that
businesses should do more of.
We’d
like to share with you the reply we give:
- Perform a measurement systems analysis on your key performance
indicators (KPI) – this means you can trust the numbers you run the business
by. Just because you get a report from your computer system doesn’t mean
it is always right!
- Chart the ‘trusted’ KPI on a control chart or run chart. This tells you how to react to the
fluctuations in your business and lets you know how you are doing.
- Use hypothesis tests to find sources of variation. If your KPI is not where you want it to be then
you know where to improve.
- Oh yes and don’t forget your change leadership skills along way!
We
