Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training

Yellow Belt Training

Introduction
Six Sigma Yellow Belts are team members who work with a project leader (a Green Belt or Black Belt) to deliver improvements. The Yellow Belts usually work on projects in their own area of involvement – i.e. they are ‘fact holders’ in the process under review, they ‘own’ the process and work in it on a daily basis. Yellow Belts may be operational teams or intact work groups who will be using the DMAICT methodology to improve processes.

Who should attend this course?
People who:

  • Work in processes that need improving using the DMAICT methodology
  • Are suppliers of inputs to processes that are undergoing a Six Sigma improvement project
  • Customers of outputs from processes that are being improved using DMAICT methodology

What will attendees take away?

  • An understanding of Six Sigma
  • An understanding of process fundamentals
  • An understanding of the fundamentals of variation and how it affects process performance
  • How the DMAICT methodology is used to improve processes
  • What will be their role in the project
  • How to use the common, basic improvement tools
  • What are the other typical roles in a Six Sigma deployment

Overview
Yellow Belt training should be given to those people identified as having an involvement in any Six Sigma project. It will enable them to contribute quickly and fully to the completion of the project and the delivery of benefits. Training will be on the basis of our 2 or 3 day programme and will be carried out in parallel with the first module of either Green Belt or Black Belt training so that when the project starts the team that has been identified will be ready to go! Each project may require a team of 4-6 Yellow Belts – so by combining teams from several project areas course numbers of 15-20 can be achieved. The training is highly interactive and includes many exercises and a simulation that demonstrates how waste and variation occurs in a process and, more importantly, how to use Lean and Six Sigma tools to eliminate it.
