Six Sigma Train-the-Trainer
Introduction
Train-the-Trainer courses are recognised as being a step towards self-sufficiency, whereby an organisation acquires the ability and the materials to continue rolling out the training of Green and Black Belts without relying on external consultants.
Train-the-Trainer provides:
- in-house capability to deliver Six Sigma training
- accelerated project execution
- Master Back Belt development
Who should attend this course?
Staff who have already trained as a Black Belt or who have significant business improvement experience. People identified as potential Master Black Belts will be required to train, coach and mentor others in the organisation.
What will attendees take away?
- Participants will be confident to deliver the Green Belt and the Yellow Belt courses. Further development will enable them to deliver Black Belt material.

Participants' communication and facilitation skills will have been developed.

Each participant has a learning contract and Personal Development Plan (strengths, areas for improvement, actions for development).
Overview
The Train-the-Trainer development programme comprises five phases to Green Belt delivery and an additional four phases for Black Belt competency.
Phase 1 Black Belt training (if not already certified)
Phase 2 4-day training skills and training material familiarisation
Phase 3 Co-delivery of Green Belt course (paired participants with Six Sigma Group trainer)
Phase 4 Supported delivery of Green Belt course (paired participants with Six Sigma Group trainer)
Phase 5 Solo delivery i.e. independent of external support
For Master Black Belts:
Phase 6 Selection of MBBs from Train-the-Trainer
Phase 7 Upskilling - familiarisation and training of Black Belt training materials
Phase 8 Supported delivery of Black Belt course
Phase 9 Independent delivery of Black Belt course
